Hi there, I'm a Paediatric & Eating Disorder Dietitian
I support women and families to create connection with food, their bodies and their minds.
Welcome.
I’m Maddy, I teach people how to tap out of the diet mentality and trust their body. My work is mostly with women, families and carers to support responsive feeding practices with children, or anyone experiencing an eating disorder.
I strive to practice from a neurodiversity-affirming lens (all brains are welcome), while offering trauma-informed care. I apply a respectful approach to nutrition. Consequently, you will walk away feeling heard and appreciated.
To support this, I draw from many frameworks such as:
- mindful eating
- responsive feeding therapy (RFT)
- Ellyn Satter’s division of responsibility in feeding (sDOR)
- Health At Every Size (HAES)®
Consultations with me do not focus on weight. Instead, I discuss what food means to you or your child, what your favourite meal is, and how you like to move your body. Your relationship with food, and how that affects your eating, is also explored.
If you’re a cat person, please let me know!
Did You Know:
- I have 25+ years lived experience with irritable bowel syndrome (IBS), which led me to become a Dietitian.
- Lockdown began my indoor plant obsession, I'm still trying to keep them alive.
- To me, clotted cream rice pudding is the ultimate food.
- My strange fear is that of small holes, or trypophobia. I'm not sure why, but they absolutely freak me out!
- I was a Nurse before I became a Dietitian.

Working with Madeleine
Commencing nutrition consultations can be daunting. After all, Dietitians are known to be a privileged bunch of mostly white, thin, cis-gendered, neurotypical, hetero females. I wholeheartedly acknowledge my multiple privileges that allow me to work in my chosen career. I am constantly learning and striving to do better. I am open and promise to always listen, and be your advocate. Curious to see how I work?
