FAQ
Before getting in touch, see if your question has already been answered.
Do I need a referral to see a Dietitian?
If you have been referred by your GP with either a Medicare Chronic Disease Management plan or Eating Disorder Treatment Plan, you will need to bring the referral with you.
If you are self referred, you do not need a referral to claim a health fund rebate.
Can I claim a private health rebate for Dietetics?
Yes you can.
Please check your level of extras cover prior to the first appointment. The clinic is equipped with Tyro for on the spot claiming.
Do you see clients with eating disorders?
Madeleine currently sees clients with eating disorders, provided there is a GP and Psychologist on the team to ensure safe care.
Joanna does not see clients with eating disorders.
Should my child attend the first session?
It depends.
If your child has a Medicare referral (GPMP or EDP), they will need to be present to claim the Medicare rebate.
However, it is recommended that the parent attend the session alone to allow a safe space to discuss eating or weight concerns away from little ears.
This may mean that the initial consultation is paid for privately (private health rebates if applicable), with the Medicare referral starting from the second consultation.
